Below are opportunities to take part in a collaborative translation – no translation experience necessary! The languages you know will determine which collaboration you can participate in.

As places are limited we do prioritise TransCollaborate members, and for some collaborations we require membership. You can join here.

FRENCH: Native or equivalent

ENGLISH: None, Low or Intermediate

Help learners of French through collaborative translation. For a series of group workshops translating into French excerpts of an English travel memoir.

SPANISH, ITALIAN or ROMANIAN: Native or equivalent

ENGLISH: Intermediate or High

Translate a play in collaboration with a theatre professional. For a series of group workshops and online readings.

Via Zoom, throughout 2021.

KOREAN: Native or equivalent

ENGLISH: Intermediate or High

Review Korean translations of Australian government health documents. For a series of group workshops translating documents back into English and comparing with the original.

NEPALI: Native or equivalent

ENGLISH: Intermediate or High

Translate Nepali poetry with English speakers who are interested in learning about Nepali language and culture.

November 14 and November 21 @4pm AEDT

Learning French? Come and be a source collaborator: translate with a native speaker and practice your French communication.

Interested in theatre? Ask us about opportunities in our Spanish, Italian & Romanian collaborations.

Interested in Korean or Nepali but have no knowledge of them? Come and be a Target collaborator: translate with native speakers and learn about their language and culture.
